Polish PHW subsidiary Drobimex has invested in new large-scale hatchery

Rechterfeld/Szczecin, 20 September 2005. The Polish PHW subsidiary, Drobimex, has invested 4.5 million euros in a new large-scale hatchery. The company, which – together with the Drobimex poultry sausage production facilities – is based in Goleniów near Szczecin, Poland, is, with an annual hatching capacity of 37 million eggs, one of the most modern hatcheries in Europe. In 20 pre-incubation setters and 10 hatchers approx. 550,000 chicks have been hatching every week since the hatchery started operating in the middle of August. To ensure optimal transport of eggs and chicks, Drobimex uses three new special vehicles which were purchased in Germany.
