“Wiesenhof Entenspezialitäten” purchases leased poultry production in Neutrebbin

Neutrebbin, 23 January 2006. Wiesenhof Entenspezialitäten GmbH & Co. KG – a member of the PHW Group – has taken over the duck poultry production in Neutrebbin. By signing the contract in January, Wiesenhof kept its promise to purchase the plant, which it had leased since last July. “We want to send a message that we regard our operation in Neutrebbin as a long-term commitment”, explained Paul-Heinz Wesjohann, chairman of the PHW Group. At the present time 115 members of staff work at the plant.  

Wiesenhof leased the insolvent poultry production from 1 July 2005, and began duck production there in September, initially with a workforce of 80. The significantly improved market and sales situation for German duck products made it possible to increase the number of employees by 35 before the year had ended.
